Social Service - Vermont Adult Learning

Vermont Adult Learning, a member of the statewide adult education and literacy system called Learning Works, is an educational non-profit which serves individuals age 16 and older who are out of school and in need of basic reading, writing, and math skills, GED preparation, English as a second language, and help with specific goals such as getting a driver’s permit or a commercial driver’s license.

Services are offered throughout the county. In addition to adult essential skills education, Vermont Adult Learning offers the Adult Diploma Program, High School Completion Program, basic computer skills instruction, preparation for college, work readiness programming, and GED testing.

During fiscal year 2010, we served 446 students through our county office. Seventy-four (74) of those students were residents of Hartford. We are again requesting nine hundred ninety-nine dollars ($999) to support our services to the residents of Hartford. We thank the voters for their generous support in past years.

Anyone interested in our program may call 886-5502.
