Skiing & Snowboarding Lessons - 110504

Instructor: Quechee Ski School

Anyone, adults included, can register for either ski lessons (ages 4+) or snowboard lessons (ages 7+).   Participants should arrive at Noon the first day to register.  Classes meet at 12:20 pm and run from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm.  Any participant seven years old or older may stay and use the ski area after lessons, as long as they have demonstrated the ability to ride all three lifts without assistance.  All others will need to be supervised with an adult, adult tickets can be purchased for $15 beginning at 2 pm.  The Quechee Ski Area has snowmaking capabilities, so the hill should remain open, but as usual, parents may use their discretion about inclement weather.  HENDERSONS SKI SHOP will offer a discount for rentals for any lesson participant..

Music with a Message.  Children's entertainer Johnny the K, performs award winning, educational programs to children and family audiences across North America.  This nationally acclaimed musician and teacher, John Kelleher, along with his 12 string guitar and his unique collection of costumed hats, masks and disguises, educates and inspires his audiences through his spirited and interactive style of music. His exciting and unique method of teaching and empowering children has been greeted with overwhelming approval and support from school administrators, teachers, health educators, parents, police departments and most importantly, the children.  In every show the message is clear; each one of us can make a difference; in school, in our community, and in the world.

Winter Valley Quest Hike - 130618

Guided Valley Quest. Sunday, January 9th at 2pm. Valley Quest wants you to remain active in the winter, so join us for a guided Quest, Hurricane Hill Winter Woods Walk. Depending on the level of snow, bring your snowshoes. To get there, from White River Junction, turn from Route 5 onto Route 4 west. Follow Route 4 west for 2.1 miles, and then turn left onto Center of Town Road. After traveling up hill 0.7 miles, turn left onto Kings Highway. Follow for 0.6 miles, and then turn right onto Reservoir Rd. Proceed 0.7 miles until the road ends at the Hurricane Town Forest parking area. 10th Annual Youth Ice Fishing Derby - 110420

Join us for our Annual Youth Ice Fishing Derby at Dewey's Pond.  Children will be placed in age appropriate categories based on the number of registered participants.  Prizes will be given for the longest fish, shortest fish and greatest gross total length of all fish caught.  Food and refreshments, fishing holes, bait and limited equipment will be available.  Make sure everyone is DRESSED APPROPRIATELY.  Pre-registration is encouraged at the Hartford Recreation Office or register the day of the derby at the "sign-in tent".
