Social Service - The Hartford Housing Authority

Over the past several years, HUD has incrementally reduced fees associated with administering the Section 8 Program. In response, HUD has been encouraging smaller programs, such as Hartford’s, to merge with larger Housing Authorities. After several years of operating with these limited resources, the Hartford Housing Authority concluded that it is no longer financially feasible to continue and closed November 1, 2010.The Vermont State Housing Authority will be administering the HUD Section 8 Program for the 43 households. The phone number is 802-828-3295. The Town Health Department (802-478-1900) and State Health Office (802-865-7741) will provide information for lead based paint, mold, asbestos, etc.

The Hartford Housing Authority appreciates the support of the community over the last 3 decades.
