Finance Director

The Town of Hartford, Vermont is seeking qualified candidates for the key management position of Finance Director. Hartford, located in eastern Vermont on the New Hampshire border, has a population of 10,366 and is a nationally accredited (CAFR) community in the Upper Valley of the Connecticut River.) Salary negotiable based on experience and training + very competitive benefits package. Minimum qualifications include: a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (CPA preferred) and 5 years of progressive municipal or governmental accounting experience at a supervisory level. Should also have knowledge of fund accounting, local, state and Federal laws pertaining to finance, demonstrated supervisory skills, be accomplished in budgeting, purchasing and have extensive knowledge of computers and computerized municipal or fund accounting systems. Must be organized, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Should be a team player, and able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with employees, elected officials and the public. A combination of skills and experience demonstrating the above requirements may also be considered. Wellness Coordinator
 
Responsible for the overall administration and coordination of the Town’s “Wellness” Program; a wellness/safety and healthy lifestyle promotional program for all of the Town’s employees, dependents & retirees. Must have a high school diploma and at least one (1) year of prior experience as a health or wellness industry, sports medicine, personal fitness or related field demonstrating the necessary education and credentialed professional training to effectively meet program objectives. Compensation negotiable and DOQ.  Part-time position, no benefits.
