INVITATION FOR BIDS
QUECHEE COVERED BRIDGE #6 REPLACEMENT
Sealed bids from pre-qualified contractors shall be accepted until 10:00 A.M. prevailing time on June 29, 2012 at the Hartford Town Office, 171 Bridge Street, White River Junction, VT 05001, for construction of the project hereinafter described.
All bids must be accompanied by a negotiable bid guarantee which shall not be less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, and all bidders shall be on the current list on the VTRANS Contract Administration pre-qualified list “Contractors List of Bridge Construction Category”.
LOCATION: Beginning at a point on Waterman Hill Road approximately 150 feet south of the bridge and extending to Quechee Main Street.
TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION: Work to be performed under this project includes: the demolition of the existing superstructure and north abutment, reconstruction of the south abutment, construction of a new north abutment and concrete superstructure with timber roof, modifications to an existing parking lot, landscaping, sidewalks, drainage, retaining walls, bridge water and sewer lines, and incidental items.
CONTRACT COMPLETION DATE: The Contract shall be substantially completed and open to traffic on or before December 7, 2012, with final completion on or before June 7, 2013.

PLANS: Plans and Contract Documents are available for $100.00 per set, plus applicable shipping/mailing costs made payable to DuBois & King, Inc. and maybe obtained from DuBois & King, Inc, 28 North Main Street, P.O. Plans will not be available until after June 11, 2012.
PREBID CONFERENCE: A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held for the project on June 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hartford Town Office, 171 Bridge Street, White River Junction, VT 05001.
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS: This contract is governed by the VAOT 2011 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION, as modified. Buy-America Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wage Rates do apply to this contract.
