Would like to replace a window in the back of my house with a door. Do I need a building permit for this. Tried calling # in tel book (295-6382) no one at home.

The project you are speaking of would not require a Building or Zoning Permit if you are speaking of a residential location. If this happens to be a commercial project or is in the downtown Design Review District you should contact Planning & Development at 295-3075.

The CATV Channel 8 page seems seriously out-of-date! Could someone please update it? It would also help to post the schedule of when the Select Board and any other relevant town meetings are aired. I think this is a very valuable service to the community. Thank you.

Wondering what the specfic laws and town ordinances are regarding the pushing of snow onto public road ways. Thanks!

Placement of snow in public ways is under VSA Title 19, Section 1111- It is illegal to remove snow from private property and deposit it on or across the sidewalk, roadway or against structures such as fire hydrants. Hello, I'm wondering what the fire code is for having fire doors in a condo unit? Could you brief me on what the regulations are please? Thank you.
A. In a condo the only place you may need a fire door would be the furnace room if the room is rated. The best thing would be to contact Michael Bedard, Fire Marshal at 295-3232 or email mbedard@hartford-vt.org.

I was curious about any regulations covering the posting of fliers in the town of Hartford. Specifically I was also interested whether or not fliers may be posted on telephone poles

Is there any chance a mirror could be installed across from the bridge tilted toward Rte 14 so vehicles coming off the bridge could see oncoming cars.
A. This suggestion has been discussed and the Town's insurance carrier does not want the Town to be responsible if the mirror is gone/broken and there is an accident.

During a visit to the Hartford Cemetery last week, damage was noted on stones from mowing activities this year. Who oversees the Cemetery mowing activites in Town?

Is it possible to get the town highway people to mow or cut at the end of the bridge going on Rt14 it is really bad and I have been almost hit a few times.
