Basketball Camps - 410201

Instructor: Hartford Hoops Foundation

Fundamental and developmental skills will be taught to help you become more confident while playing basketball. Some basic skills will be re-introduced to help everyone brush-up on team playing. We will also introduce some of the basic drills that the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams perform in practice daily.  We can’t promise NBA results, but we know that you will have fun! Don’t forget to bring a water bottle.

Youth Basketball - 110101

The Youth Basketball programs are offered for all Hartford residents in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade.  Each player will be provided with a team t-shirt.  All participants must provide a mouth guard and indoor sneakers.  K-2 Basketball is an in-house program which breaks participants into small groups and focuses on skill development.  3-6th Grade Basketball are broken into equal teams by grade level and play both in-house and inter-town games.  Teams play at Dothan Brook and Ottauquechee School dependant on the numbers.

Start Smart Sports Development - 110101

Instructor: Ida Churchill

The Start Smart Sports Development Program is a developmentally appropriate introductory sports program for children 3-5 years old.  The program prepares children for organized sports, in a fun non-threatening environment. The Start Smart Sports Development Program prepares children and their parents for organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.  Age appropriate equipment from Franklin Sports® and Hasbro® is used in teaching throwing, catching, batting and kicking.

Youth Indoor Soccer - 110513

Instructor: Steve Sass

Participants, in this after-school program, will be mixed up into small groups and play matches against one another. Participants are to bring comfortable clothes (shorts or sweatpants) and sneakers to change into (cannot wear outdoor street shoes).

UPPER VALLEY HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

 Upper Valley Hockey Association (UVHA) offers local boys and girls the opportunity to play beginner and competitive hockey.  Emphasis is placed on skill development, fun, sportsmanship and game play.

We welcome all levels, both girls and boys.

 FREE HOCKEY FUN DAYS! 

UVHA is hosting two days of free hockey in October.  Visit www.uvha.org for more details.  Hockey equipment is required and we have established special packages through Stateline Sports if you need equipment.  We will also hold a “Nearly New” equipment sale in September.

Kids in Motion - 110430

Instructor: Youth In Action

Kids in Motion is a 2 hour long sports camp from children in grades 2-5 sponsored by Hanover Youth-In-Action. Children who attend Kids-In-Motion are paired one-on-one with a high school student volunteer as they play games and learn new sports skills that they can use to stay active under the guidance of certified physical education instructors. Two elementary physical education teachers facilitate the entire event.  Snack provided. Please wear sneakers.

February Ventures - 110252

Director:  Ashley Rich

MISSION:  To provide a safe environment for all children where they can experience friendships, expand their creativity, learn new things and have FUN.

 

During each session participants will be separated into age appropriate groups.  Each day participants will experience different activities such as music, sports, nature, and crafts.  All groups will have a rotating schedule so every group will participate in a variety of activities.  Participants are to bring their own snacks, drinks and lunches, and must have weather appropriate clothing and boots.  Do not wait!  Sign up early, as space is limited.  There will be a field trip on Thursday.  Early drop-off will begin at 7:30 a.m. for an additional $10.00.

UVRS Guitar Sessions - 410528

Instructor: Upper Valley Rock School

Every guitarist has his or her own sounds. That’s why in the begging guitar class we will begin by trying to get that sound out by teaching basic guitar chords.  Once we get an understanding and feel of the instrument we will learn simple melodies that are easy for beginning guitarist to play. From there we will learn various songs to play on the guitar that range from blues roots music to modern pop tunes.

Babysitting Course - 410522

Instructor: American Red Cross

If you are 11 years of age or older and want to become a certified babysitter, this American Red Cross Babysitting course is for you.  You will learn all about leadership and responsible babysitting, caring for children as the heart of babysitting, the business of babysitting, safety, playing safe, basic first aid, action plans and intro to CPR.  Bring snacks and a bagged lunch.

Middle School Fun Nights at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center

This program is for any Hartford High School student that is not on a high school sponsored basketball team.
